Doctors from non-EU countries (e.g., Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia) need a visa to have their medical qualifications recognized in Germany. Here’s a quick guide:

🔹 1. Apply for a Visa👉 Recognition Visa (§ 16d AufenthG) – For doctors without full licensure, allows entry for up to 24 months to complete the recognition process.👉 Work Visa (§ 18a or § 19c AufenthG) – If you already have a medical license (Approbation) or a temporary work permit, you can start working immediately.

🔹 2. Stay & Recognition Process

Medical Language Exam (C1 Level) – Required for full licensure

Knowledge Exam (if needed) – Tests medical expertise & German medical terminology

Work with a Temporary Permit – Limited employment in a clinic while completing the recognition process

🔹 3. Residence Permit After Recognition

EU Blue Card (Minimum salary: approx. €45,300)

Standard Work Permit for skilled professionals

Challenges:⏳ Long processing times (3–12 months)💰 High costs for exams & living expenses📍 Different requirements depending on the German state
